the oc disorder (don't call it that)

As I think I've mentioned before, I keep a list of every movie I have ever seen. You should try making one yourself; it's an interesting exercise in torturing your brain in an effort to wrest past trivialities from your memory. Really, the more recent years aren't so bad, but it's hard to recall that movie you saw once when you were six.

I wouldn't recommend spending much time on this task just from memory. It ended up being much easier to remember a movie when given its name. To take an example near the top of my list: I don't remember seeing 101 Dalmatians, but I do remember that I have seen it. (One Hundred and One Dalmatians was more memorable.) So most of the time spent in the compilation was spent with one or a few browser tabs open to IMDb. The ability to run a search for something like [all G or PG rated movies in English from 1930 to 1995] makes the task a lot easier.

I bring this all up because of the lingering effect of some of these difficulties. Namely a list of six movies that I can't decide whether to include on my list. Usually, when I remember a movie, I can sort of remember some plot elements or something, but these I have only a vague recollection that my family rented the movie or seeing a minute of the movie. And the problem is my OCD keeps pushing me to see six movies I'd rather not.
